Boca do Rio & The Heeters

Posted on

We’re throwing a pre-Davis Music Fest party with our partners at Sudwerk Brewing Co. featuring soul, groove, funk, and jazz with local cosmic salsa legends Boca do Rio and San Francisco’s rising starts The Heeters. That’s right, we’re taking over the Sudwerk Dock Store’s Hopyard Stage Friday, June 5, 7-10pm for a night of infectious rhythm and fun!

Boca do Rio started flowing when Kevin Welch from Vivendo de Pao and Alex Calatayud from Entre Nos formed a musical partnership in the late nineties that would redefine Brazilian music in the Bay Area. They are backed by a band locals will recognize as the very funky Big Sticky Mess.

Soul, R&B and Funk from the Bay Area, California. Deep grooves, tight three-part harmonies, and songs that will uplift your spirit. The Heeters is comprised of Tom Quell (vocals/guitar), Nadav Beary (drums), and two members of The California Honeydrops (Lorenzo Loera on keys and Miles Blackwell on bass. Lorenzo and Tom co-write the songs, which have that classic soul sound & those catchy hooks–with a personality that makes them still unique and relevant within the world of modern music.
